There are a lot of ways you can help Cat Can Subs! CCS is a mostly solo project, with occasional volunteers coming and going. Here is but a small list of positions and ways that can help a ton.
=== Translators ===
The hardest to nab, translators can be super expensive and the cost adds up pretty quickly when we're talking about full series translations. If I don't have a volunteer available, I pay out of pocket for translation services when my change jar jingles heavy enough.
Japanese - Looking for volunteers for translating of anime and an 80s Jdrama
=== QC ===
An important position that could help a lot to boost the quality of the subs. Basically an editor.
Translation QC - Double check the translation for translation errors or grammatical errors.
Timesetting QC - Making sure the subtitles flow well with the dialog.
General QC - Checking the timesetting, encoding, subtitle grammar, etc for basic errors and how they could be improved.
=== Donation ===
RAWs - Preference for LD/DVD/Blueray when it comes to raw rips of media when they're available. Since a lot only have VHS releases, we settle for what we can get.
Scans - Scans of DVD, VHS, and LD covers are fantastic. For magazine and book preservation, see the project page for what's needed. 600dpi in .TIF format is the minimum standard, but 1200dpi scans are a bonus.
